Disappointed! Noisiest room ever excluding the train.

We booked a 5 night stay. The room rate and amenities were nice. Because the hotel is located on Railroad Ave adjacent to railroad tracks we anticipated occasional train noise which was understood. That being said, the room we were given ranks as the noisiest hotel room we have ever had keeping in mind that we travel a lot. The train noise was the least of the problems. The constant street noise and proximity to the loading dock for the Ice House across the street with the delivery truck backup beepers going at around 4:20 and 6:00 a.m. on two mornings and a local bar/restaurant playing thundering music until after midnight Friday should have been an alert. Monday morning the fire alarms sounded early a.m. for a short spell. Then at around 7:30 a.m. a maintenance worker started a project using loud power tools close to our room without the courtesy of anyone giving us advance notice. Then there was a worker walking on a scaffolding outside our 2nd story room window yelling down to someone below. Most aggravating is that we received a request from the hotel after we checked out asking for feedback on our stay. We answered describing the experience noted above. To date there has been no response from the hotel expressing concern or apology. Based on this experience it is not likely we would choose to stay here again.

While some noise from the railroad and surrounding businesses is expected, the combination of street noise, early morning deliveries, and maintenance work near your room is certainly not the experience we strive to provide. We apologize for the lack of prior notice regarding the maintenance project and any inconvenience caused by the fire alarm incident. Additionally, we regret that your initial feedback did not receive a timely response, as guest concerns are important to us. Moving forward, we will review room assignments for noise-prone areas and improve communication regarding scheduled maintenance. We truly appreciate your insights and will use them to enhance future stays.

Close to everything!

The Hotel Lexen is beautiful! Comfy beds, slippers and bathrobe await in your room. Great staffing, especially AJ at the front desk. Walking distance to great restaurants, bars, etc. Will definitely stay there again!

Nice But Noisy

This was my second stay at this property. I’m happy with the room and amenities. Clean and cozy. The only drawback is the noise attenuation between rooms is nonexistent. My prior stay was great. This time, as someone who goes to be relatively early (10pm) I had to listen rap music and loud conversation until midnight, when the front desk responded to my request that they ask the other guests to quiet down (thank you for your responsiveness). The second night was no better with noise from the other side and loud hallway conversations. I could hear every word said so I’m glad conversation was all I had to deal with! Next time I know to ask for the quietest room they have!
