The Cambria was a wonderful stay. Starting with pleasant helpful people at the desk, to a big clean room, with very comfortable beds, and a variety of pillows to suite anyone’s pillow preferences. The room was big enough to have lots of room for a sofa. Niced sized closet and lots of clothes storage. The location could not be better in the Rockville town center, with many many restaurants and a movie theater a 1/2 block away. Metro is a 3 minute walk. Comfortable, friendly, convenient, clean. And a good price.

I booked the hotel mid-winter to enjoy the swimming pool and hot tub but they were under renovation and unavailable for use. I wish they posted that on their website and informed potential guests. Guests book rooms expecting to use all the services that are listed.

DO NOT STAY // SECURITY PROBLEMS // Management absent, cannot be contacted

This is incredible but true. When I checked in, room keys were non-functional throughout the hotel. Guests had to wait at the front desk for a staff member, who accompanied the guest to their room and opened the door with a master key. This same process was required for room access each and every time, a situation that persisted for the duration of my 2-night stay. That alone is something.
BUT THEY WERE NOT VERIFYING GUESTS' IDENTITY TO ACCESS THE ROOMS! THEY WERE GIVING ROOM ACCESS TO ANYONE WITH A ROOM NUMBER -- NOT EVEN A NAME WAS REQUIRED!
When I complained to the desk staff, this was downplayed as if it were an unserious matter -- until I loudly, publicly demanded action at the front desk in the presence of arriving guests. Then they finally started checking ID. This may have been simply "for show" though, as I'm not sure returning guest IDs were actually verified against the room manifest. The staff was unable to adjust my bill or take any action whatsoever, including escalation. Hotel staff insisted that NO management was present in the hotel, nor was any management available to be contacted. Apparently the hotel is unmanaged, if nobody could be contacted under these circumstances. And, my demand for hotel management to contact me has now been ignored for more than a week.
Furthermore, some of my belongings are missing and I do not know if anyone was given unauthorized access to my room. I have disputed the charges with my card company since management has failed to address the problem or even make contact.
I am considering legal action against this hotel. I strongly recommend that no one use this hotel for any reason.

There was a technical problem on arrival where we couldn’t get room keys but the staff was friendly and apologetic and it was fixed within a few hours.
The room itself was ok but very dark, and a lamp that would have helped was broken. Additionally neither of the outlets next to the bed worked.
