Thank you for the hospitality and comfort we receive checking in and during our stay

Thank you, the staff is so considerate this is the only hotel I will book by choice. I travel to Carlsbad, New Mexico, frequently and the safety I feel as a single parent is rare. The staff has never been anything but courteous and observant with my son, and I cannot thank them enough. I have enough experience traveling to understand this is a rarity, not in commitment, but in action.
I had made an error booking last time and that could have gone terribly wrong. Instead, it took ten minutes to resolve, and I know who is standing at the front desk matters in these situations.
Don’t overlook the amenities, the pool area and exercise facilities are well maintained and hygienic. Carlsbad offers a climate where outdoor pool and hot tub amenities can be utilized year round. The pool is one of our favorite places at the end of a long day of traveling with a rambunctious little one.
Ultimately, it gets down to how you are treated, and that’s why I recommend this hotel.

Needs improvement

I wasn’t as impressed with this hotel as I thought it would be based on previous reviews. We had a room on the second floor and we could hear everybody stomping above us. The room itself was OK but it needed repair. The carpet was fraying, the beds were not that comfortable, and the sheets were thin. Overall, the impression of the hotel was of sort of dingy. Fingerprints all over the elevator and front doors, guest walking around with no shoes, the best thing about our staying was the breakfast and the customer service of the Front Desk was really good. It just felt overall that this hotel needed a refresh to make it more modern and better attention to keeping common areas clean.

Good options in Carlsbad

There are not many nice hotels in Carlsbad, and while Hampton is a discount Hilton brand, I am confident that this Hampton Inn is one of the best options in Carlsbad. The rooms and bathrooms are notably spacious and reasonably updated. The pool and fitness room are larger than what I typically see in Hamptons. A key to any Hampton Inn stay is the included breakfast. This one was reasonably large and varied in items. On the whole, this was the best I could realistically expect at a discount hotel in a small city.

This was a last minute stay because the hotel I booked was terrible. Hampton was beyond great and I only stayed there one night and arrived after 9 pm. Great breakfast and I was able to do my husband’s laundry while he was working! Definitely will stay again!!

It was a nice stay as part of our extended family road trip. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. There were plenty of options to choose from for breakfast and it was good.
