Stayed just for a night. Overall I loved the old charm of the pub and the lovely big fireplaces, the food was nice, the staff were wonderful, but it wasn’t the best hotel room.
- The “double/king bed” is 2 singles pushed together which is my pet hate.
- cheap furniture needs upgrading.
- The bathroom really needs an update. There was paint chippings from the walls all over the floor & in the shower cubical. The shower leaked & dripped all night. The bedding & textiles all felt thin & cheap. The cushions & bedspread really need washing or ideally replacing.
They do warn you the windows are cold as it’s an old building which is fine but, ours was actually smashed in 2 places so was really drafty. They could maybe do with some shutters or at least proper lined blackout thermal curtains & a blind.
Just a few upgrades would really make such a difference.

Lovely hotel in easy walking distance of Cheddar Gorge and the Caves. Staff were fantastic, friendly, cheerful and very helpful. Food was excellent, ate once in the restaurant and once in the bar , service was first class. Would definitely recommend.

Loved our stay at the Bath Arms Hotel. All the staff were friendly, the food excellent. Room was large with a huge bed. Little extra touches such as bottled water, biscuits, peanuts and jelly babies, were very welcome. Would definitely recommend staying here. Will use again if in the area.
