Cosy, clean place, great for a night or two passing through

This is a lovely old farmhouse style building in the ground of Gripsholm castle. We were doing a cycling and canoeing tour of the archipelago and this was booked for us as part of our tour. The rooms are very basic - twin beds, a cupboard and a sink, but it is really clean and cosy and was just what we needed. There are plenty of bathrooms available with great showers, all very clean. The kitchens are stocked with breakfast fare for the morning and you help yourself to whatever you want with coffee, teas, hams, cheeses, cererals, breads all available to choose from.

Thunder in the pipes!

Firstly, this BnB is outrageously expensive. What you get belongs to a much smaller price range.
What was worst, however, was that the ventilation howled and thundered so loudly that you went crazy. This could not be changed. The very simple room also became very stuffy and hot. There didn't seem to be any ventilation despite the thundering of the pipes, hum…
Hostel feeling on this for sure.
Bonus: good breakfast!

Small rooms, not the cleanest, shared bathroom - but lovely area and breakfast

We stayed here for five nights = 2 adults and one youngsters. Our room (first on right on bottom floor) was very small. Three single beds and barely room to walk by. The sheets were clean but the floors and windows were quite dirty. There was a sink which was helpful. There was also a cupboard which was good. I don't like sharing bathrooms but this was OK. We never had to wait to use one of the many showers/loos - which were semi clean. There is a kitchen/seating area but we never used. We had good sleeps and it was quiet at night. You do have to get the key/go for breakfast to the hotel which is about 8 min walk away. This was no hassle at all. The breakfasts are great - loads of breads, hams, salads, fresh waffles and great coffee and teas and cereal selection.
Mariefred is lovely and it is a pricey place - so this was a good deal for the area.

Misleading photos and description

Firstly the check in is a bit complicated, you have to go to the centre of the town to get your key and then go back to the b&b which is a bit outside of the town (this is where the breakfast takes place).
Secondly the first room we got was not cleaned at all since he last customer and so we had to go back to reception (in the centre as mentioned above here)!
And thirdly, we booked via Booking.com and the pictures were a total fraud. They were misleading, we had a super small room and not cosy at all.
On a better note, the breakfast is really amazing (but I wouldn't recommend going to the restaurant for dinner).

Overpriced and uncomfortable rooms

This B&B place was the worst place I have ever stayed overnight. The miljö as the Swedish would say is really cosy and the rooms are pretty ok but the airconditioning was awful noisy and away too powerful. Also there were some people coming in the middle of the night from the bar and making a lot of noise. The showers and toilets are common and located in the aisle. The doors are super heavy and making a lot of noise when closing. The rooms were also missing small things like wastepaper basket and drinking glasses to have a glass of water. The breakfast was pretty ok. So if you look for a room to have a good sleep avoid this place.
