The Momument Hotel is AMAZING!

Not only is the Monument Hotel Luxurious, but its people are literally second to none! Everything you need is ready for you when you arrive. A VERY special shout out to Steven the Bartender from NY, Mariah the hostess from Mount Tibidabo and Xavi from Barca. These people are EXCEPTIONAL at what they do!

Stay at the Monument Hotel!

One of the nicest hotels ever! The amenities, the rooftop, the food, the comfy bed and amazing bathroom are just a few reasons to stay here. Wish we could have stayed longer! Staff was friendly and helpful. Really appreciated the early check-in!

The Monument Hotel added to an enjoyable time in Barcelona

The Monument hotel was better than I expected. A friendly and competent staff who always helped me when needed. The breakfast buffet in Glasss is varied and incredibly delicious. (a special thanks to waitress Andrea and hostess Laia, who were both gracious and friendly.) The lobby staff are also great. The rooms are quiet, spacious with comfortable beds, lots of closet space, a nice little balcony, and good A/C. My only criticism is that the shower stall should have some non-slip adhesive as I nearly fell when my foot slipped out from under me while stepping onto the wet shower floor.
The location of the hotel was convenient: it's near two Gaudí houses (la Pedrera is worth visiting); the hotel is two blocks north of a metro station and two blocks south of a great tour-bus stop. I was very pleased with my experience at the Monument Hotel and will definitely return when I next visit Barcelona.

Lovely, Cosy, Go for It !

First, you cannot find a best location in all Barcelona, in the biggest shopping street of the City.
The Hotel itslef is very good, well decorated and the rooms were very quiet and comfortable at same time. The Bathroom of the Suites were perfect combining a Bath and a Shower.
Equipment are perfect even if we would have prefered a hoted swimming pool in February :-)
Breakfast is really good and you have a very large choice of hot meals cooked at minute for FREE.
Only the Rooftop Bar was so so because the Cocktails (20€) were not really well decorated and originals...
The Best point go to the Service Team who are jus AMAZING. You want something ?? They will do it for you. Kudos to the Door Team who are so lovely with the Kids and the Breakfast Team who just anticipate any need you may have.
We wanted to test the Oria Restaurant (at least) but for Family , the Menu isn't really made for it so we didn't go.
It is mostly the case for Michelin Restaurants but please, if you make the calculation of period of time like Feburary where restaurants are not full, just add 1 or 2 meals for younger travelers and you will see a cash interest ;-)

Lovely hotel, but poor service and handling of issues

We were very excited to book a stay at this hotel after hearing great things. Unfortunately, we didn’t seem to experience what other reviewers have talked about.
Firstly, I should start by saying that the hotel itself
Is lovely and stylish. The entrance was a very pleasant welcome to our stay in Barcelona and the staff on reception were pleasant and friendly.
We checked in at 3pm and were shown to our room, and after travelling all day wanted to get a couple of hours sleep to recharge for the evening. As we laid down loud drilling commenced in the room next to us. We gave it 30 minutes before calling down to reception as we understand that emergencies happen and things can’t be helped. The drilling was so loud that the walls were vibrating. When we called to reception she assured us that the drilling would
Continue for 5 minutes or so and apologised. It continued for a further 20 minutes and immediately after it was constant hammering for another 30 minutes. Not relaxing at all. There was no offer to move us to a different room and not much of an apology.
Considering when we checked in we were told that the hotel wasn’t full occupancy, I was surprised that guests were being put into rooms in such a noisy area of the hotel.
The following morning we woke up to no water. We were unable to flush toilets or wash and clean our teeth. We contacted reception again and were told that they were aware of the problem and had been working on it for a few hours. If this was the case, why were guests not told or offered water to use in the morning? We left the hotel as we needed a break and came back at midday to find that the problem was still ongoing.
As we only had a short stay in Barcelona we opted to move hotels to the Majestic (just down the road). The service we received here was second to none and couldn’t be more different to that of the monument.
Overall, we were really disappointed considering the money that had been spent for us to stay at the monument.
When we changed hotels, the Monument gave us a discount of 50% on the night we did stay and refunded us the remainder of the stay which was kind but it still caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience.
A little pre thought goes a long way when you are experiencing difficulties, but there appeared to be a real lack of client focus at this hotel which was a crying shame.

We are pleased that you found our hotel stylish and lovely. Our neo-Gothic inspired mansion, the Enric Batlló House, is designed to offer a warm welcome to our guests. We're also glad you appreciated the pleasant and friendly demeanor of our reception staff.
However, we are truly sorry to hear about the disturbance experienced upon your arrival. In the rare instance of necessary maintenance, we strive to minimise any inconvenience to our guests and deeply regret that this was not your experience. Furthermore, we apologise for the lack of of water during the next morning.Please rest assured that it was an emergency situation that occured on the same day at 7:30am and we could not anticipate and inform all the guests in advance about it. The water was cut immediatelly as we encountered the leakage in order to avoid floods and major damages in the guest rooms. This was certainly not a situation that happend before or something we could anticipate and we understand the frustration it caused.
Nonetheless, we appreciate your understanding regarding the partial refund and discount we provided. It is good to know that our gesture was positively received.
We hope you'll consider giving us the opportunity to provide you with the exceptional experience we're known for.
