Okay for a very short stay
The breakfast wasn't as "continental" as I thought, since they offered scrambled or fried eggs with ham and cheese, so that was good. The bread and juice was good also (they also had coffee, coffee with milk or plain milk).
In general, the staff was nice enough.

Never again
This is a long post, but that is only due to there being some very glaring issues including the mysterious accusation of us using counterfeit money!
Firstly, I will begin with the issue of the smell of mildew in our room. It was clear there was some issue with humidity in the room due to more than just the summer weather.
Another issue was the unreliable electricity. At least twice during our stay the electricity cut out. This issue was made worse by the fact we couldn't use the air conditioning for long periods at a time.
The breakfast provided was very much below par for a hotel. I have stayed in backpacker hostels with a much larger selection then that provided by this hotel. Some cereal and bread a breakfast buffet doesn't make.
Now, onto the big one. upon arrival at the hotel (Friday night) we were given the option to pay for our stay using USD. Seeing as this would allow us to save our Soles for our vacation we decided this was the best thig to do. So, we payed using two notes.
This is where things get very strange; the concierge who welcomed us Friday night decided to inform us Sunday evening that, supposedly, one of our USD notes (the 50usd) was fake!
We discussed with the concierge about the issue Sunday night. He had not said a single thing to us upon arrival of his suspicion (which was very strange as he could have checked the note using the black light he had behind the desk in full view).
Apparently, the concierge approached the manager with the note, the manager then takes it to a bank on Saturday and is told it is fake.
The manager returned the note to the concierge sometime Sunday before 7:30pm before approaching us with the accusation.
My partner and I decided that it would be best if we could somehow prove either way if that note was even ours to begin with (seeing as more than 36 hours had passed since we payed).
The concierge in question stated that, if we wanted, his boss could show us the footage to prove it was ours.
Naturally, we agreed to see the evidence of our payment as we had nothing to hide and were willing to do the right thing if we had in fact payed using a counterfeit note.
Seeing as customers of the hotel were being accused of a criminal offence, we expected the boss to come in and see to the matter personally as soon as possible (this was around 7:30pm Sunday night).
Nope. We were made to wait until 9am when he could be bothered to discuss this with us.
We spent Sunday night worrying and thinking about the whole situation. One of our few nights to enjoy our stay in Lima was ruined as we couldn't relax until this was resolved.
Sometime between Sunday 7:30pm and Monday 11:30am, the note is confirmed to be real by the concierge using what they describe as a "machine that takes your USD and changes it into Soles". (They knew the money in question was real and said nothing to us).
9am Monday morning we are waiting for the manager to arrive. The lady who was working that morning, who was actually super nice and professional, informs us the manager won't arrive until 10am.
We decided to actually go out and enjoy our morning as our previous night has already been ruined.
We return around 11:30am and immediately await the manager in the lobby.
He informs us that the note we used was actually real!
What? All of which was kept secret from us whilst we sat in our hotel room feeling like criminals.
The manager apologises for the confusion but not for the accusation. He repeats himself over and over again that it was all a mix up.
I try to explain how this ruined our experience, but he genuinely only cared about what he had already said. If this was his form of apology he shouldn't be the one to represent his employers in matters such as this.
To top it off, his form of apology was a Pisco Sour for each of us. That's it. You ruin our evening and compensate us with "a traditional Peruvian cocktail". He made it sound like the elixir of life from Indiana Jones or something. Insulting.
My partner and I are still very upset and anyone reading this should reconsider coming here. It was far from a pleasant experience and, to be frank, I've had much better experiences staying at hostels.
Oh, we got our Pisco Sours that evening. The lady who delivered them to our room as part of our apology was the most unfriendly, angry, miserable person we'd clapped eyes on in a long time.
We honestly couldn't get out of this place quick enough. If I could score it lower I would.
