Adequate and met our needs

Pros:
1. The room was large with good facilities, a fridge, a professional hairdryer and a kettle.
2. Extremely comfortable bedding.
3. We got breakfast in our room daily based on a list we filled out when we arrived (with all the basic options available), and the food was always fresh.
4. Convenient location in the city centre and in a walkable distance to Ibla.
5. Wifi connection was excellent.
Cons:
1. Cleanliness and maintenance of the room could be better.
2. The hotel had an impressive ambience as it was an old building that had been restored, but it could benefit from more decorations to enhance its overall atmosphere.

Great location

This hotel is in a great location , in the centre of town by a square. The rooms are a good side and staff friendly . On the negative side it has seem better day, with paint coming off the walls, mould in the showers and door sticking . The staff seemed aware of the issues, but took no action, it would not take much to make this hotel great.

Very bad

The photos do not correspond to reality, or rather they are not recent photos. The structure needs to be renovated, having booked a Junior suite I would have expected more attention to detail. The shower head was broken, then replaced with a worse one; the drain doesn't work properly, mold in the shower cubicle, intermittent bathroom light. On the terrace there are vases with dried flowers used as ashtrays. Breakfast room with only 4 tables and 8 chairs, despite there being 10 rooms. The buffet table has no savory items and very often has no glasses, napkins and plates. The only positive thing is the central location of the hotel and close to a multi-storey car park.

But what a star is too much.

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and for what they offer the price is a scandal. Dirty rooms with an unpleasant smell everywhere, inconvenient parking and the courtesy of the staff leaves a lot to be desired. I do not recommend the stay..

Excellent Room with comfortable bed but things to bear in mind

Overall this Hotel served its purpose well.
On the positive side it’s close to the centre (new Town) and the Hotel is genuinely interesting.
Our Room was on the first floor overlooking the Street and had a huge ceiling and had lots of character.
The bed was comfortable and free water was in the mini-Bar.
The lightning wasn’t great and the safe in the room was operated with a key on the same key ring as the card which operated the lights.
Nice idea except that to lock, or unlock, the safe you had to take the card out of the light reader and within 60 seconds you were in darkness!
It also had Sky so we could watch the Ryder Cup and see Europe win which was a real bonus!
The are some useful observations to make.
There are no lifts and getting to the first floor if you have heavy bags, as we did, is difficult after a long drive although when we checked out the guy on Reception gave me a hand.
If you have a room on the second Floor bear this in mind, especially if you have a lot of luggage!
I think we were unlucky as the night we stayed was a day of celebration (can’t remember what it was) and there was a Disco going on until at least midnight, if not later.
This was followed by people having a long and protracted argument in the Street at 3.30am.
Not the fault of the Hotel (clearly) but it’s a risk with close proximity to city centres plus having a room street facing.
The Breakfast was slightly disappointing compared to other places we stayed.
It was OK but very basic.
Parking is also a lottery for those who drive there.
On Sunday street parking is Free.
We were very lucky but on another day I’m not sure how we would have managed, although I’m sure we would have found a solution but this is definitely worth bearing in mind.
The WiFi was good.
Getting to Ibla (old Town) is walkable downhill although a mammoth trek getting back unless super fit especially if you are having a meal there as well.
The going rate for a Cab is €10 which is a bit pricey but unless you drive (not really recommended as parking is very limited) it’s the only real option.
Stupidly we did wait for the Bus (at the right time) but unsurprisingly it didn’t turn up!
