A nice hotel near Bahnhof of Karlsruhe, the rooms are nice and clean, you have everything you need in your room, complimentary water waits in the room. You have a kettle to make coffee and tea. The bathroom was clean as well, the shower was spacious. The bed was clean including pillows and mattress. Pillow and blanket were thick and cozy to sleep on.
Near the hotel you have parking free of charge after 8 p.m until 8 a.m from Monday to Friday. Free of charge the whole day on the weekends.
You have inside the Bahnhof building bakeries, subway and McDonald. And a very nice vegan spot for porridge that is made fresh for you, the price is better than the bakery which was very overpriced.
A tram station is very close ( when you come out of the hotel on your right as well as the bahnhof) , you can reach any further destination you need.

Bankruptcies, bad luck and endless breakdowns at the Intercity Hotel Karlsruhe

The hotel was simply an imposition for me! Ms. Kalif (or something like that) at the reception swings between crude and brash or confidential (if you can't read anymore, it's time for glasses - because I probably wasn't quick enough for her to read the registration form). She also acted only indifferently and cheekily in the conversation. Adequate guest and service orientation were not available at the reception in my perception! The room was not cleaned during the 2 days, although it was expressly requested of me. Unfortunately, it was already taken over dirty on arrival. I even found a stinking child diaper in a loosely knotted plastic bag behind the curtain. There was hardly any toilet paper. The trash can wasn't emptied either. Hair on the edge of the toilet and in bed. The incandescent lamp of the already crooked floor lamp had blown. Some lamps in the room did not go in part. No coffee powder available at the coffee machine, instead with my complaint only the cheeky comment of the named lady at the reception: There are outside companies cleaning here, you have to be glad that cleaning is done at all....(which is very doubtful according to the above experience). For me, all this was unbelievable! Incorrect prices were also stored in the computer! The room should suddenly cost 90 euros more. I was cashed immediately upon arrival, although I am a H Reward customer and have been for years. The handling of my legitimate customer complaints was absolutely flawed. A call promised by the reception “of the boss” was also not made. No excuse, no offer of compensation. On the contrary: I was told that I had supposedly received an upgrade on arrival. I can't verify that. Booked was a business room and this is what it looked like to me based on my previous experience at the Intercity Hotel. In no case, however, were the above defects agreed or accepted. A new incandescent lamp (for self-assembly) was handed to me the day before. So they reacted....I found that outrageous.
Conclusion: Never again in this hotel and H Reward customer I am not from tomorrow. With 102 hotel nights this year, I can say for myself: The Intercity Hotel in Karlsruhe was the worst hotel experience of 2024 for me. I attached 13 photos.

Conveniently located near to Karlsruhe train station. Cozy hotel with good facility. Love the Karlsruhe city map backdrop in the room! ❤️

I arrived at 1:30pm having flown from the USA to Frankfurt and then taken a train. I was exhausted from jet lag. Staff said check-in was at 3pm and that I had to pay 25€ to check in early. I’ve never heard of such an absurdity. If the room is not ready, I understand, but if a room is available, it's a pure scam to charge extra to check-in 1.5 hours “early.” Avoid this hotel.
