Excellent but tight overnight campervan site!
Small and tight, with parking room only and nowhere to sit outside, this site is very convenient for easy bus access to the city. Facilities are modern, clean but limited (3 toilets 1 shower) and excellent WiFi. Expensive at €35 for a van + couple, but it was all we needed.

Unfriendly and no service
We drove for 7 hours in the camper van, and it wasn't possible to reserve in advance. The weather was really bad and even though half of the spaces were free, the employee turned us away. "I'm not taking any more." But he also charged us €39 for staying there overnight.

European motorhome trip 2019
The best thing about this site is the fab location for exploring Hamburg. You can easily get in on the bus and there are night buses back. The pitches are pretty small but we knew this from other reviews. The guys running it were friendly and helpful and the washing facilities really clean. There is a great Aldi nearby on one of the bus routes. We went to the gay pride in Hamburg and had a great time.

Tent with acar
This was absolutely the worst!
Beside that we didn’t get any service what so ever, The reception was never there! I left my contact information so they can call me so I can pay. A man called me saying exactly “ we got your number and you have 10 minutes to come back or we call the police “
This was absolutely insulting. No respect at all.
I definitely do NOT recommend anyone to come to this campsite.

Happy in Hamburg
This campsite is very busy so I advise booking at least the day before. It's not grand and pitches are tight but you are here to sightsee Hamburg not Camping Buchholz and this is a great place to stay. The facilities are fine (search out the extra showers) and the bus to central Hamburg is just down the road. It's not noisy for a city site and there is a garage just across the street selling diesel at the cheapest we have seen in West Europe.Top Marks Buchholz!
