The Best

Cuzy and lovely as 8 years ago. I've been here in March 2017 and everything still good and lovely. Clean dorms, nice people. Nice location and beautiful Hostel. It's perfect in one word. My only problem was cleanness of The toilets, i think they need to care more about this.

We booked a private double room, which I found spacious enough, though it might feel a bit tight if you have large luggage. The bed is comfortable, and the bathroom is clean. The hostel’s ambiance and interior design have a cool, rustic-industrial vibe, which I really like.

Fine but unwelcoming attitude

The stay was fine. Basic accommodations. The rooms are clean and there’s a fun courtyard are. The kitchen is not set up for cooking, though it has an air fryer and a fridge. The lobby area has fun decor, but the rules are very off-putting and kill the vibe. You can’t sit in the lobby without purchasing something from the cafe/bar. You are only allowed to sit in the designated workspaces if you don’t want to purchase something, even if you are not working. For example I had wanted to sit in one of the armchairs in the lobby rather than in my room for a short bit of time between activities, but was told I couldn’t do that and had to use the workspace table, even though I wasn’t doing any work. As a guest of the hostel, I would think I could sit in the common space without purchasing food. You also aren’t allowed to take pictures of the space without permission from reception, and I got approached by security for doing so, even though I had just wanted to document the space for my own travel album. I certainly understand their policies, but the attitude made me feel stressed and unwelcome. My friends and I were also told we could not play a board game in that space, and when they asked why, the staff said they did not know why but it was against the rules. Overall, many guests I spoke with during my stay felt similarly- the attitude at the hostel is poor and frustrating despite how welcoming and fun it looks online. Ultimately I was glad to be moving to a different hostel for the second leg of my trip and enjoyed my stay at 10 of Pushkin a lot better.
